I love the idea of time travel. To have a second chance at fixing bad decisions, or to see back into the past or far into the future, those things make my heart beat faster. I had to cut the list down to ten, but these will give you a good start if you’re interested in exploring this genre.
- If She Had Stayed by Diane Byington – My book, of course. Time travel, Nikola Tesla, and women’s fiction all rolled up into one fun package
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon– Yes, I’m one of those obsessed people. The love story of the century between Claire and Jamie, played out in many huge books.
- 11/22/63 by Stephen King – It’s my favorite of his books. Can the character stop the assassination of President Kennedy?
- Time and Again by Jack Finney – Such beautiful description of New York City in 1882, you will swear the author had really been there
- The Time Machine by H.G. Wells – The one that started the whole genre. You probably read it in high school, but it’s worth a second read
- A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court by Mark Twain – What can I say, other than that it’s awesome?
- The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger – A quirky look at the ways time travel can mess up relationships
- A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux – Time travel romance that is so much fun
- Here and Now and Then by Mike Chen – Time travel with the family in mind
- The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain – what a mother would do to save her child
