An Annie Fitch Mystery: Book 3

P.I. Annie Fitch is working to rebuild her business after a pandemic slump. During a meeting about a run-of-the-mill divorce, a major client asks her to look into the death of his goddaughter’s reclusive and cantankerous father. The police say it was probably COVID, but the goddaughter isn’t convinced.

Eager to keep her client happy and intrigued by the mysterious nature of the case, Annie starts an investigation that leads her to an idyllic historic village where the past is very much present and the veneer of sleepy respectability hides all manner of torrid secrets.

When Annie’s old flame turns up with a complicated surprise of his own, she is forced to confront her mixed emotions about her personal life and what she wants her future to look like.
