The Escape the Poison Event began with this video:
Each team had to solve the equation to get their starting bag of puzzle items.
The first puzzle had small sections of RAP covers next to a pair of numbers, like 1-4, 2-7, etc. The first number indicated which of the 4 words the card belonged to, and the second number indicated which letter of the book title was needed.
The answers led the teams to the lock on a new bag. The new bag contained the next two puzzles and instructions to go to a website page that had a password. To get the password, they had to ask Alexa (on my Amazon Dot) for the password. Alexa’s response was “The password is idiots, all lower-case for your lower-case brains. I’m sorry. That evil-genius author made me say that. I think you’re all smart. I love Red Adept Publishing books!”
That page displayed this video:
The next puzzle consisted of some word search puzzles to get to a new website page and a map of the US to get the password for it.
Once the word search puzzles were completed, the unused letters spelled out a message that gave clues to finding the website page.
For the map, they first had to tape it together, then they had to follow clues to draw lines that spelled out the needed password.
To give you an idea, here are the clues for Team 1:

Those who answered all the questions in the first or second quizzes correctly were sent to a page with this video:
When they asked Alexa for the failure password, she responded: “The password is silly in all caps. By the way, I’m really happy your team got this far. I hope you beat that evil genius author so you can put more books on my Kindle.”
The clues for the next step all started with:
The poison races through your veins.
Soon you’ll all be dead.
I’ll bet you’re wishing now
You were with Penguin instead.
And the rest of the poem gave each team a clue that led them to a place in my house to find an envelope, like under the footstool or behind my office door.
The envelope contained a key for solving the next puzzle to get a 4-letter word and a combination. They had to find the symbols on previous puzzle items.
In their next bag was a bunch of Popsicle sticks that had to be sorted and put in order to read a message. The new bag also sent them to this video:
The final puzzle consisted of 3 completely blank jigsaw puzzles. They had to put them all together then use the magic pen to see the words. The words told them where the key was to their locked box, which contained their antidote, a variety of Mentos candies. 🙂
