Editing Consultation

Editing Consultations include:

A copy edit (full line with light content) of a 1,000 word excerpt provided by the author

A one-hour Skype call to discuss the edit in detail.

E-mailed copy of edit

Editing Consultations can be used to:

Help you decide if you need an editor

Show you what an editor can do for your manuscript

Teach you to do some self-editing to prepare manuscripts for submission to editors (Many editors price on a sliding scale dependent on the condition of the manuscript. Having a manuscript in good condition can get you a better editing rate.)

All Editing Consultations will be scheduled within two weeks of submission. We do not accept advance scheduling.

Author must have the latest version of Skype and the ability to talk on Skype via a headset or microphone.

Minimum submission is 5,000 words. Though we generally only edit the first 1,000 words, more can be done at the editor’s discretion.  (Exceptions to the minimum word count will be made for complete short stories that are less than 5,000 words.)

Submissions must be .doc or .docx.

Purchasing an editing consultation in no way obligates an author to using our editing services.
